Parker Bay’s Database tracks all of these active machines, along with those that are out of service to bring the total to 8,200 hydraulic excavators/shovels. These are classified by the size classes below from the 20-30 mt class up to the largest hydraulic excavators with 77 metric ton payload ratings. A number of OEM’s produce mining shovels of this size with both backhoe and front-shovel configurations.
