Parker Bay’s Database tracks all of these active machines, along with those that are out of service to bring the total to more than 4,400 hydraulic shovels. These are classified by the size classes below from the 20-30 mt class up to the largest hydraulic excavators with 77 metric ton payload ratings. A number of OEM’s produce mining shovels of this size with both backhoe and front-shovel configurations.
