The following equipment is included in the Database. The number of units included, as of September 30, 2011 (including some units identified as being inactive) consisting of the following product lines:
- Mining Trucks – 34,000 active machines
All rear- and bottom-dump haulers with payload ratings of 91 metric tonnes (100 tons) and larger. Current Manufacturers: Caterpillar, (Bucyrus-Unit Rig), Belaz, BEML, Hitachi, Komatsu, and Liebherr (obsolete manufacturers & models included as encountered).
- Electric Mining Shovels — 1,700 active machines
All currently produced models ranging in payload capacity from approx. 20 through 100 metric tons+ (20 – 100 tons) along with a substantial number of obsolete models still in operation. Manufacturers: Caterpillar (Bucyrus, including former Marion Power Shovel models), Joy-Global/Harnischfeger (P&H), OMZ. Includes those units supplied directly and through licensing agreements.
- Hydraulic Shovels – 3,700 active machines
All units (front shovel & backhoe configurations, diesel and electric-powered) with rated payloads of 20 metric tons and larger, approximate operating weights of 160 metric tones and larger. Manufacturers: Caterpillar (Bucyrus, O&K), Hitachi, Komatsu (including all former Demag models), Liebherr, and obsolete manufacturers/models as still in operation.
- Wheel Loaders – 3,100+ active machines
All units with rated payloads of 20 metric tons and larger, and net power ratings of 600 kW (800 hp) or greater. Manufacturers: Caterpillar, Komatsu, Joy Global/P&H (LeTourneau).
- Draglines – 500+ active machines
All walking and crawler-mounted units with rated payloads of 20 metric tons and larger, and bucket capacity of 9 cu. meters (10 cu. yards) and larger. Manufacturers: Caterpillar (Bucyrus, including former Ransomes & Rapier and Marion Power Shovel models), Joy Global/Harnischfeger (including former Page), OMZ.
- Tractors/Dozers (crawler and wheel) – 9,800+ machines
All units with net power ratings of 375 kW (500 hp) or greater. Manufacturers: Caterpillar, Komatsu, Joy Global/P&H (LeTourneau).
- Motor Graders – 2,100+active machines
All units with net power ratings of 200 kW (275 hp) or greater. Manufacturers: Caterpillar, Komatsu.
- Drills – 2,100 active machines
All units with net pulldown ratings of 18,000 kg (40,000 pounds) or greater. Manufacturers: Caterpillar (including Bucyrus, Reedrill), Sandvik/Driltech, Atlas Copco (including former Ingersoll Rand), Joy Global/Harnishfeger (P&H).
